Lisa Jensen, MS.ED, LCPC
Lisa has a wealth of experience working with children, teens and adults. Lisa has a relaxed, down to earth personality that helps her connect easily to clients. Lisa graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2005 with an MS. ED. in Counseling. She has extensive training and experience in helping those who have experienced sexual and physical trauma and domestic violence. She also has worked with youth and adults with special needs. She is interested in working with those in the LGBTQ community. Lisa joined Changes Counseling in 2015 and currently works in our Rochelle office.
Kathleen McGuire, MS.ED., LCPC
Kathy has over thirty years' experience as a licensed counselor, school counselor, and professional educator. She has a heart for helping others and a positive attitude that shows with people of all ages. Kathy has not only been effective as an individual, youth and family counselor, she has also applied her counseling and communication skills to helping schools, organizations, and businesses become more positive and healthy places to work. Kathy enjoys using Love and Logic Parenting strategies to help empower parents. Kathy has been building a professional network and seeing clients in our Oregon office since 2017.
Victor Mendoza, M.S., Ed., LCPC
We are pleased that Victor has joined our group in our Mendota and Rochelle offices in 2018! Victor is a 2014 graduate of NIU's Counseling Program focused on Clinical Mental Health and has over five years' experience working with children, couples, individuals and families. Victor has an easy going personality and works well with individuals of all ages. He has experience helping youth and families in crisis and counseling survivors of trauma. He has a passion for working with the Latino community and speaks Spanish fluently. Victor's experience and abilities as a bi-lingual counselor will be an excellent resource for families in our community.
Cora Mills, MSW, LCSW
Cora MIlls joined Changes Counseling in 2013 and is a genuine, positive, creative therapist. She is a 2010 graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago where she received her Master's in Social Work. Cora has experience working with people with depression, anxiety, bi-polar and a variety of mental health issues. She uses cognitive-behavioral strategies to help her clients overcome challenges. She has additional experience in working with children and families with adoption. Cora was recently trained in prenatal and postnatal mental health issues for new moms, and has an interest in women's issues. Cora has a passion for working with the LGBTQ population and survivors of sexual, physical and emotional violence. She has a caring personality and a positive attitude that helps her work well with people of all ages. Cora works in our Rochelle office.
Christine Novak, MA, LCPC
Christine has worked with youth and families since the start of her career in 2000. She has additional training in working with those who have experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, autism spectrum disorders, divorce and domestic violence. As a 2001 graduate of Loyola University's Pastoral Counseling Program, Christine learned to support people in their faith as part of the counseling process. As a mother of three, she brings personal as well as professional experience to counseling individuals, couples, families and children. She lead the Rochelle Parent Group for parents of Special Needs Children for six years. Christine practices in our Rochelle office.
Linda Brose, MS, LCPC
Linda has over 20 years' experience as a mental health therapist. She has worked in several mental health clinics, social service agencies and hospitals throughout her career. Linda has a warm personality, fun sense of humor, and is comfortable with a wide range of clients. Linda is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and a graduate of Northern Illinois University where she earned her MS in Mental Health. She works well with individuals and family members dealing with addictions. She has additional training and experience working with those with domestic violence and sexual abuse. When asked what clients she works well with, Linda answered with a smile, "A better question might be, Which clients haven't I worked with?" We are pleased that Linda has joined us in our Oregon office.
